Title:  Assistant Controller
Location:  Elizabethtown, KY

Compensation:  $55,000.00 to $75,000.00 per Year

Description:  Our client is seeking an Assistant Controller. This person develops, interprets, and implements complex financial and accounting concepts, or techniques for financial planning and control, by performing the following duties. Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the timely preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close
  • Responsible for following corporate financial policies, government legislation, and accounting principles
  • Responsible for backing up the various accounting positions in the department
  • Review and resolve daily and monthly GL posting problems
  • Assist the controller with plant Sarbanes-Oxley compliance
  • Assist the controller to provide detailed and reliable information to internal and external auditors as needed
  • Assist the controller in the development of the budget, planning, and other corporate financial requirements
  • Assist the controller with the creation, implementation, and maintenance of internal controls
Requirements Include: Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree with an Accounting major is required; 3 years or more experience as an Assistant Controller is preferred. Experience in a manufacturing accounting requirement is required
Language Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Computer Skills:
  • To candidate should be proficient with MS Excel. Knowledge of Hyperion Accounting software
