Description: Kforce is seeking a Product Engineer (non-automotive) for a Benton Harbor client.
Functions Include:
- Work with the product development of structural components from concept to production in support of new product introductions
- Work closely with a Project Leader and other Product Technical Leaders to develop and establish feasibility of sub-system concepts that support the project and product specifications, schedules, costs, and capital budgets
Accountabilities:
- Create mechanical designs of structural components and assemblies, including: baskets, tubs, packaging, and sound packs components
- Manage development and tooling schedules, bill of materials, and engineering documentation

Requirements: Mechanical Engineer Qualifications and Experience:
- BS degree Mechanical Engineering (MS degree in ME is preferred)
- Minimum 15 years of experience designing sheet metal and plastic components / assemblies for structural and aesthetic applications
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes for sheet metal stamping, injection molding, and paint / decoration processes
- Use of design support services including CAD support (Pro/E), FEA (ANSYS / LS DYNA), mold flow (Moldflow), and tolerance analysis (CE-TOL or VSA)
- Candidates with direct modeling and simulation experience are strongly preferred
- Experience on lab testing and data acquisition systems is required
