| Description: Underwrite mortgage loans ensuring compliance with appropriate company and secondary market investor standards. Evaluate loans in order to maximize organizational profit and minimize risk or loss. Examine loan documentation for accuracy and completeness. Work with the Loan Originator or production staff to secure all required documents. Work with more senior-level Underwriters on loan exceptions. Have authority to withdraw and decline loans. You may be involved in one or several types of mortgage lending (conventional, government-backed, etc.)

| Requirements: Extensive customer contact is required. This position may require a Bachelor's Degree and 4 or more years of residential mortgage underwriting experience including manual decisioning as well as the ability to validate income, asset, and collateral documents including self employed tax returns. Excellent phone skills and, superior customer service skills. Typically, this position reports to a Supervisor or Manager.
