Description:  Our client is seeking a Business Consultant (healthcare, retiree benefits, Medicare). The salary is $80-95,000. This is a permanent position with no relocation. The Business Consultant is a highly visible role to define, manage and deliver successful consulting, product services and implementations within the Commercial client base. This position works with sales and product management to define and deliver Plan Compare and Enrollment solutions to healthcare plan sponsors. This position also researches and analyzes the marketplace and together with sales, product management and technology anticipates client needs in order to best position the client's products and service opportunities to our clients. This position works with all internal departments including sales, business consulting, technology, quality assurance, and product management to successfully manage and deliver solutions. Candidates must be fully authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for understanding how solutions meet/enhance client business needs in assisting their members and potential members compare, choose and use a health/prescription drug plan
  • Successfully manages activities of departments to deliver contracted solutions
  • Manage outside vendor deliverables for design and / or integrated solutions
  • Manages all aspects of solution delivery, including managing client resources to extent possible
  • Key client and internal company contact for escalation of issues related to engagements
  • Responsible for overall implementation success of all client projects assigned
  • Responsible to work with internal development, technology and quality assurance teams to coordinate and deliver client requests timely and accurately for clients assigned
  • Works with professional services, sales, product management and account development teams to continually provide input to offerings, with a goal of anticipating future client needs
Requirements:  The skills, experience, and education required for this position include the following:
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare, retiree benefits, Medicare or Medigap program environments or other equivalent consulting experience
  • 5+ years of experience in program/solution implementation with a proven track record of progressive responsibility and assignments
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in analyzing, interpreting and communicating policies and regulations effectively. Policies and regulations affecting retiree healthcare insurance is a plus
  • Proven management skills in leading multiple client projects at a time and managing client expectations
  • Experience working effectively with matrix and
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to quickly build credibility and gain the confidence of individuals at all levels
  • Proven success operating in a team environment
  • Superior negotiating, analytical and problem solving skills and ability to rapidly adapt to changing marketplace and client projects V2009
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience senior healthcare benefit offerings
  • Consultant experience working for either a management or benefits consulting firm
