Description: Our client is seeking a Tax Associate for a perm position.
The responsibilities of this position include the following:
- Deliver results individually and as a key team member in a fast paced, high performance culture
- Meet or exceed standards of excellence established for the department
- Assist with the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns of varying degrees of complexity
- Monitor tax calendar for compliance and accounting due dates
- Support vendor inquiries and research and prepare tax exemption certificates
- Support process improvements to improve operating efficiency
- Assist with special projects as assigned department management
- Provide technical assistance for internal customers: A/R, A/P, Purchasing, Accounting, Finance, IS and other departments
- Assist with state and local sales and use tax audits and appeals
- Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance

Requirements: The skills, experience, and education required for this position include the following:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting or related field from four-year college or university; or currently pursuing Bachelor's degree
- 1-3 years of functional experience in Accounting, Finance or Tax
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented and organized
- Demonstrated ability to utilize tax research software
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to clearly write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral, or diagram form
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
