Paid Time Off

If you are eligible for paid time off (PTO), the amount of time awarded is based on the number of years you have worked for Kforce. For more information, refer to the following accrual rates and program details.

PTO Program Details

Accruing PTO

PTO allowance increases the pay period following your 5th and 10th-year anniversary dates.
Accrual of PTO begins immediately based on regular hours worked and can be taken as it is earned.
If you work over 40 hours in a week, those hours do not apply toward earned PTO.
If your employment ends, any time you have accrued and not used will be paid to you.
If you have a negative balance, the dollar amount rounded to the nearest 8-hour increment is deducted from your last paycheck.
Payment by personal check is requested for any remaining negative balance.

Requesting PTO

Request planned PTO in advance as far as possible, with a minimum of two weeks notice.
PTO for unplanned events, such as illness or emergencies must be requested prior to or concurrent with your absence.
Client consent in advance is required and time off must be requested through Kforce using the Technology request process.

Using PTO

You must have the time accrued to take that time off.
Time off must be taken in whole or half-day increments.
PTO that is taken due to personal illness that exceeds three consecutive days requires a doctor's release to return to work.
You can only carry over five days to the next calendar year.

California Employees

For California employees, you can carry over no more than two times your annual PTO eligibility to the next calendar year. For example, if you are eligible to earn 25 days per year, the cap is 50 days. Once this cap is reached, no further PTO will accrue until PTO is used. When PTO is used, accrual begins again. However, the accrual of PTO is not retroactive for the period of time the accrued time remains at the cap.

Salary Plus

For Exempt employees, Salary Plus ensures you are compensated for 40 hours or more in the same week. However, if PTO, vacation, or holiday hours are applied to the same week, those hours are not compensated.
