Bryan Cohn: Employee Spotlight

How did you get into the staffing industry?

When I graduated from Penn State, I didn’t have a clear idea of what I wanted to do in terms of my career. I moved back to Florida to be closer to family and start the job search process. One day, I texted a friend who was an IT recruiter at another company to see if she had any opportunities available, and that’s when I kicked off my career in recruiting.

Shortly after, Kforce had an open recruiter position in Pennsylvania that I applied to. I interviewed with the team and fell in love with what the position had to offer. The close-knit team and amazing culture sold me on starting my career at Kforce, so I packed my stuff and moved back to Pennsylvania.

You were recently recognized by one of our consultants for your dependability and dedication. What is it like to know you’re making a positive impact in others’ lives?

In a world where complaints are often the loudest, it always feels good when someone is recognized. It’s nice to know your work is appreciated, and I think Kforce’s culture alludes to that type of recognition.

My work is appreciated

What piece of advice would you give to a recruiter just starting his/her career?

To quote Joel Embiid, “Trust the process.”

There’s a science behind what we’re doing. If you hit a bump in the road, know you’re not the first to hit that same bump. Stick to what you know, trust your managers, and keep your spirits up.

Keep your spirits up!

You’ve been with Kforce for a little over a year – do you have a favorite Kforce memory?

Each month, our office divides into teams for an in-office tournament. We tally points every hour based on each team’s number of submittals, job orders, interviews, etc. At the end of the day, the team with the most points wins. My team has won the last three times! The game offers a healthy dose of competitiveness. It keeps everyone on their toes and promotes teamwork.

What is your all-time favorite sports team?

Hands down – the Philadelphia Eagles. My dad’s originally from Philly, so I’ve grown up as an Eagles fan. My love for Philly sports has always been the driver behind going to school in Pennsylvania. I’m also a huge Penn State fan!

If you could meet any major league sports player, who would it be?

Carson Wentz – he’s a quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. A lot of people see him having a huge influence on the future of Philly sports because of his dedication and ambition. I’d love to grab a beer with that guy!
