In an increasingly technology-reliant world, business agility is more than a priority – it is an absolute necessity. The Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a solution many business leaders turn to when looking to increase workplace agility and accelerate their company’s digital maturity. Building agility into the digital transformation is crucial because it helps you ensure your business is running optimally.

A company’s technology, processes, work model and operating model are all essential components of any transformation or modernization effort aimed at being better equipped to react to constantly changing demands or uncertainty. The agile methodology minimizes business disruptions and empowers employees at all levels to work without boundaries or limitations by bringing each of these components together to find the most efficient and productive method of accomplishing a specific task.

Kforce’s Proactive Investment in Skillsets of Existing Scrum Team Members Results in 36 Consultants Earning SAFe Agilist Certification

As a solutions firm committed to providing our customers with expert teams who deliver powerful results, Kforce proactively provided Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) SA4 Agilist training to a team of existing Scrum consultants. Participants of the two-day course ranged professionally from UX Designers to Financial Strategists. Kforce’s Advanced Services Practice Director, Kunal Suri, SPC 4.0, led attendees through rigorous training seminars and group collaboration activities to provide an understanding of the Lean-Agile mindset and its effectiveness in the current adapt-or-die environment.

Consultants gained the knowledge necessary to lead Lean-Agile transformations by leveraging SAFe and its underlying principles (lean, systems thinking, agile development, etc.) They also learned how to support Agile teams/programs, empower a Lean portfolio, build a continuous delivery pipeline and coordinate large solutions.

“Hi Kunal, I am writing to let you know that I passed my certification exam with a score of 93%. Such a burden off my shoulders! Thank you for all your help. I could not have done it without you.” – Kforce Certified Consultant

Around the same time Kforce was providing SAFe training to Scrum consultants, one of our partners was also preparing for an upcoming Agile scaling initiative and SAFe transformation.

Challenges & Goals

The customer’s key business challenges were:

  • Increasing complexity of the products being delivered
  • Ability to maintain or improve service levels

They had two primary goals:

  • Enhance the value of IT organization in supporting strategic and tactical business objectives
  • Provide additional trainings and support to leverage existing scrum team members

Kforce Solution

As a strategic partner, Kforce decided to be proactive and invest in our existing team of scrum consultants to ensure they were ready to lead Agile initiatives before the SAFe program kicked off. Kforce began by conducting an initial skills assessment to identify which trainings team members needed. Kforce then created a strategic training and certification roadmap for existing scrum consultants.

Kforce’s proactive investment to support our client’s future adoption plans resulted in 36 team members gaining the knowledge necessary to obtain SAFe Agilist certification. As a result, when the client was ready to begin their SAFe transformation, Kforce had a team of consultants across various professional areas ready to lead an Agile Release Train.

All Kforce team members played a critical role in the client’s successful adoption of the Scaled Agile Framework and promoted a wave of innovation and collaboration in areas well beyond the course content itself.
